Toby is an actor, writer and award-winning stand-up comedian. He recently reprised his role as mortician Terry Grimm in series two of Dan Sefton’s ‘Porters’ (Channel Dave) and went on to appear in Sefton’s feel-good crime drama ‘The Mallorca Files’ on BBC1.
He appeared as the Osborne’s butler Hicks in the recent ITV/Amazon adaptation of ‘Vanity Fair’ and his many other film and TV roles include Ben Wheatley’s ‘High Rise’, Paul King’s ‘Paddington’, In The Long Run, Urban Myths and Benidorm. He can currently be seen reprising his role as Tim in the new series of Sex Education on Netflix.
The online sketches he has starred in have amassed millions of views, most notably ‘Where Are You From? The Game’ for BBC Quickies (over 13 million) and ‘Watch This Incredible Moment When This Father of Four Hears Silence For The First Time’ which has garnered over 100 million views across social media.
As a writer Toby has co-written five episodes of ‘Waffle The Wonder Dog’ for CBeebies and had several projects under option with Talkback, Channel X, Hartswood Films and Fulwell73. His stand-up comedy accolades, performing as the infamous Dr George Ryegold, include winner of ‘Best Show’ at The Leicester Comedy Festival and a nomination for ‘The Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality’ for his debut Edinburgh show ‘Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead’.
